| Very few website owners know this: |
| Sub-domains allow you to create second-level domain names under your primary domain name. Sub-domains come in the syntax of "anything.yourdomain.com", replacing "www" with a different sub-domain prefix. |
 |
| Your domain name |
| www.yourDomain.com * |
| is pointed to an IP address (i.e. 111.111.111.111) |
| This is the IP address of the server where your website is hosted. |
| |
| In addition, you can point your sub-domain names |
| www.subDomain.yourDomain.com* |
to a different IP address (i.e. 222.222.222.222)
|
| |
| * works with any suffix: .net, .info, .com, .us, .biz, .uk, .cn, .de, .tv, etc. |
Note: your website www.yourSite.com will NOT
be affected by sub-domain websites!
It does NOT have to be moved to our server. |
